In Loving Memory of David "Bunny" Owens, Jr.
August 27, 1933 - October 7, 2022
Bunny, age 89, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022, in Albany, Louisiana. He was a lifelong resident of Centreville, Mississippi, and a member of Centreville United Methodist Church. Bunny served in the Korean War. He loved his town where he served for 46 years. He served as Chief of Police, City Clerk, and Mayor for four terms. He was active in the development and management of the World War II Museum in Centreville.
Bunny is survived by his family; Dora Owens, one son; David Owens, III one daughter; Karen Cunningham (Darron), grandchildren; David Owens, IV (Carley), Kyle Owens, Danton Cunningham (Brooke), Dylan Cunningham, and great-granddaughter; Drue Cunningham. He is also survived by three sisters: Gloria Baggett, Janice Stewart (Eddie "Push" Stewart), and Martha Owens.
He is preceded in death by a grandmother; Sarah Minnie Hughes, parents; David Owens, Sr. and Leota Hughes Owens, Brother; Stan Owens and twin sister; Mitz Foreman.
Visitation 9-11 am Monday, October 10, 2022, at Centreville Methodist Church
Service 11 am following visitation.
